Rare Rookwood Ewer
A rare "Jue" shape Art Pottery Ewer signed by Hentschel for Rookwood. American (Ohio), c. 1922.
A Jue was an ancient Chinese form used to serve rice wine. In the 1920s, Rookwood conducted many experiments with traditional Asian ceramic shapes and glazes, of which this piece is an excellent and uncommon example.
