Pair of “Dragons in Compartments” Cups.

A pair of George III-period Coffee Cups in the rare "Dragons in Compartments" pattern by Chamberlain's Worcester, brightly decorated with mythical Chinese animals alternated with vases of flowers. Porcelain with enamel colours and gilding, English, c. 1794-1800.

This pattern is also known variously as "Bengal Tiger" or "Kylin in Compartments". These particular cups are early versions of a pattern that would continue to be popular for decades.
