Large Cloisonné Enamel Jar
A Meiji-period Cloisonné Enamel Jar, exquisitely decorated with medallions, chrysanthemums, and foliate motifs, and having three large scenes: A pair of dragons, A pair of phoenixes, and Butterflies. This jar is attributed to the workshop of Honda Yosaburo of Kyoto, due to the shape of the vessel and the superlative workmanship and style typical of this master artisan. Japanese, c. late 19th century.
