Charles DeKlyn
Ohio & New York, 1865-1958
Garden Scene
Oil on board

Having studied in both New York and Paris during the late 19th century, DeKlyn was known for his painterly style. He was likely inspired by the Impressionists, and often worked en pleine aire (outside), of which this landscape is a wonderful example. He was active in the Cleveland art scene, and taught at The Cleveland School of Art (now known as the Cleveland Institute of Art).
